Memorial Hall, Morris Avenue, Summit (across the street from St. Teresas church)
All skills are needed on this fun day to assemble our signature fleece blankets, which are included in the layettes that the Christ Child Society delivers to local hospitals for needy babies. Stop in anytime and see old friends and make new ones!
Volunteers needed to work with the younger children at OLHC on reading or math skills with materials provided by their teachers. You can sign up on a one-time or repeating basis. Or sign up with a friend and do every other week, coordinating schedules. Carpool leaves Summit at 8:15 and returns by 10:30. If you visit once, you will want to come back!
Tutoring will start on October 2nd. The sign up will be available soon.
Next Layette Assembly is March 7, 8:30 am to 10:30 am, Lower Memorial Hall. A sign up for volunteers will be available a week or two prior.
Layette Assemblies are held 5 times per year at Memorial Hall. Help is needed packing the baby clothing, blankets, and other items that make up the layette bundles that we provide to the free pediatric clinics at Overlook and Morristown hospitals. Once packed up in our signature blue bags, we need volunteers to drop off the bundles in Morristown and Summit. For more information contact Laura Sullivan at email@example.com.
Tiny Toppers Knitting
Our next knitting gathering is TBD. Beginners welcome! We usually chat, knit, nibble and chat some more as we knit baby hats for babies in need. Its great fun!
Join us as we come together to knit adorable baby hats, or tiny toppers, for babies in need. We welcome beginning knitters (well teach you!), as well as seasoned knitters who want to join us for an enjoyable get together! You will be notified of any upcoming events. Tiny Toppers are included in our layettes and given to babies at the free pediatric clinics at Overlook and Morristown hospitals. We also donate baby hats to social service agencies such as Birthhaven, a home for single mothers, as needed.
