The Christ Child Society of Summit holds a Rummage Sale each fall. Donations of household items, toys, sports equipment, jewelry, and furniture are accepted from the community. The sale is held in Memorial Hall on Morris Avenue, Summit, on a Saturday morning. Baked goods are also offered for sale. Proceeds benefit at-risk children in our community, through our outreach programs.
Our 2017 sale was held on Saturday, November 4th in Memorial Hall from 8 am to 2 pm. Thank you to the scores of people who donated their treasures, to those who gave these treasures a new life by purchasing them, and to the many volunteers who made it all run smoothly. “Customers” were lined up outside our doors for our 8 am opening, and the crowds kept coming until we closed the doors at 2:00 pm! It was a successful day all around! Treasures were found by many, from the desk that a young family purchased for their child, to that perfect sumo wrestler halloween costume, to the tiny china tea set that made a young girl exclaim: “I am so happy right now, I just want to make this moment last!” The Christ Child Society of Summit is happy to give local families a chance to recycle their gently used things, as well as the chance to purchase lovely items at an affordable price. This event has come to be much anticipated by the community. Proceeds will go to fund our programs for children, including our layette program, our school supplies program, and our Christ Child Society scholarship.
Make plans to clean out your attic in anticipation for our next Rummage Sale in October 2018!
